Timing depends on the fish. Striped marlin, Cabo's everyday billfish, peak from November to May. Blue marlin, the trophy fish, run from June to December, and black marlin from June to November. Marlin are released, so plan on the photo, not the dinner; the tuna and dorado you catch on the same trip are the ones for the table.
Boats leave from two marinas. 12 depart Cabo San Lucas and 2 depart Marina Puerto Los Cabos in San José del Cabo, which is closer to the Gordo Banks. Every price includes the captain and crew, tackle, bait, ice, a fishing licence and dock fees; 16% IVA is added at checkout.
