La Lupita Taco & Mezcal, San José del Cabo

Mother Flower, downtown Cabo San Lucas

Tacos Gardenias, Cabo San Lucas
Tacos Gardenias is a Cabo San Lucas classic for fish and shrimp tacos, breaded or grilled, in warm tortillas. The sign out front says since 1980, so this is a place that has been feeding Cabo for decades. It sits on Boulevard Lázaro Cárdenas, near Paseo de la Marina.
Así y Asado, Cabo San Lucas
Grilled octopus tacos, smoky al pastor and a big salsa bar, right off the highway on the Corridor at Km 3.8. Guy Fieri even stopped here on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
Lateral Crudo y Asado, San José del Cabo
Lateral serves pastor, fish, shrimp and steak tacos in the Zona Hotelera of San José, plus fresh crudo and mango margaritas. It is a good pick when you want tacos and something lighter on the same table.
Tacos El Paisa
Al pastor sliced right off the trompo onto warm tortillas, plus charcoal grilled asada and vampiro tacos. A vampiro is a taco on a crispy, grilled tortilla. Locations and hours vary, so check the one near you before you go.
How to taco your way through Cabo
- Start with the trompo. Al pastor sliced right off the spit is the move at La Lupita and Tacos El Paisa.
- Go for seafood in Cabo San Lucas: fish and shrimp at Tacos Gardenias and Mother Flower, octopus at Así y Asado.
