A fishing charter in Cabo means you book the whole boat for your group, not a seat on someone else's. Our sportfishing fleet runs 34 boats between 23 and 60 ft. The 23 Cabo San Lucas boats run $411 to $3,544 for a half day and up to $3,970 for a full day. The 11 San José del Cabo boats run one 6-7 hour trip, $544 to $1,992. Prices on this page come straight from the same rate sheet checkout uses, and they are plus 16% IVA, which is added at checkout. Dock and marina fees, tackle, bait when available, ice and one Mexican fishing licence are already included.

How to pick. The 9 inshore boats take 3 to 4 anglers, and the lowest price is the 23ft Panga at $411 for a half day. The 8 mid-size sportfishers take 4 to 6 anglers; the 6 in Cabo San Lucas run $724 to $1,575 for a half day. The 17 premium sportfishers take 6 to 10 anglers. The largest boat in the fishing fleet is the 60ft Hatteras at 60 ft, taking up to 10 anglers.

Per-angler math. Charter pricing is flat regardless of headcount, so a boat gets cheaper per head the more people you bring, right up to its angler limit. Split the 23ft Panga at $411 across 3 anglers and it is about $137 each for a half day. Each boat page shows its angler limit.

Always included. A professional captain and crew come with every boat.

Also included on every boat. Premium rods, reels and tackle, one Mexican fishing license, dock and marina fees, ice and bottled water, and fresh or live bait when available.

Never included: the tip. 15 to 20 percent is standard in Cabo.

Our sport fishing charters leave from two marinas in Los Cabos: 23 boats from Cabo San Lucas and 11 from San José del Cabo.

The Cabo San Lucas boats sell a half day or a full day.

The San José del Cabo boats leave from Marina Puerto Los Cabos and run one trip of 6-7 hours at one price, from $544 to $1,992. That marina is closer to the Gordo Banks, about 15 miles offshore from San José. See the San José del Cabo boats.

Offshore charters in Cabo San Lucas go after billfish and tuna, and offshore days usually run on boats of 32 ft and up, on a full day.

Big game fishing has a calendar. Striped marlin peak from November to May. Blue marlin, the trophy fish, run from June to December, and 300 to 800 lb is common. Sailfish run from June to December too, and yellowfin tuna from May to November.

Payment. Every trip is the boat price plus 16% IVA. Pay the full price with IVA when you book; no balance is due later.

Cancellation. More than 72 hours before your trip: 75% refund. From 48 to 72 hours before: 50% refund. Under 48 hours, a no-show, arriving late, seasickness or heading back early: no refund. If the port is closed, or the captain or tour team cancels for weather or safety, we move you to a new date. If no new date works for you, you get a full refund. Light rain or choppy water that the captain calls safe is not a cancellation.

What to bring. Reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, polarized sunglasses, a light layer, whatever you take for motion sickness, and snacks. Ice and bottled water are on the boat.
