How much is a boat tour in Cabo?

A shared boat tour is priced per seat and a private boat is one price for the whole boat, so the math turns on your group size.

On a shared trip you buy seats and join other guests, at a set time. On a private boat the rate is for the whole boat, and you pick a morning, afternoon or sunset slot on the boat page when you book.

For two people, shared seats cost less: two seats are $178 to $358, and a whole boat for 3 hours starts at $850.

The best value 3-hour boat for a small group is the Sailboat 42ft. It is $850 for the whole boat for 3 hours, and the rate covers six guests, about $142 each before IVA. Six seats on the Luxury Snorkel Catamaran Cruise come to $1,074, so at six people the private boat costs less than the shared seats.

Each guest past six adds $80, up to 12 on that boat.

For a big group, the Catamaran 47ft carries up to 40 guests. Its $2,050 rate covers 14, about $146 each, and each extra guest is $80.

Every shared boat trip on this page passes the Arch at Land's End, so the question is what you do once you are there.

These tours are built around the Arch: Cabo Snorkel & Land's End Arch at $98 per person for 3 hours, Scuba Diving at Land's End & The Arch at $128 per person for 3 hours and Camels + Arch + Lunch at $149 per person for 4 hours.

The Cabo Snorkel & Land's End Arch also passes Lover's Beach and the sea lion colony, then stops to snorkel. What's included: speedboat ride to the Arch, snorkel equipment, stand-up paddleboards and kayaks, underwater scooters and handmade quesadillas and drinks.

Checkout adds 16% IVA, so the $89 seat is $103.24 and the $850 boat is $986.

Shared trips also have a $4 dock fee per person, paid in cash at the dock on the day.

Tips are not included on either. The shared trips suggest 15 to 20% for the crew, and on a private boat 15 to 20% of the charter rate is standard, in cash, for the captain and crew.

Private boats follow our charter rule. 7 or more days before: 100% refund. 72 hours to 7 days before: 50% refund. Less than 72 hours before: No refund. If we or the captain cancel for weather or safety reasons, you receive a full refund or a free reschedule, no matter the timing. Each boat has one rate all year, so a new date on the same boat never costs more.

Shared trips follow our tour rule. More than 72 hours before your trip: 75% refund. From 48 to 72 hours before: 50% refund. Under 48 hours, a no-show, arriving late, seasickness or heading back early: no refund. If the port is closed, or the captain or tour team cancels for weather or safety, we move you to a new date. If no new date works for you, you get a full refund. Light rain or choppy water that the captain calls safe is not a cancellation.
