Best honeymoon resorts in Cabo San Lucas

In Cabo San Lucas itself, Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is the top rated of the five honeymoon resorts in our table, from $1,369 a night, with a private plunge pool in every suite.

It is perched on the cliffs of Pedregal, and it welcomes children too. Pueblo Bonito Pacifica is an adults-only all-inclusive, rated 9.2, from $437. It is on the Pacific side, where the water is rough, so plan on the pools.

Three resorts are in town. Casa Dorada Los Cabos is on Medano Beach, the calm and swimmable one, with a rooftop infinity pool, from $180. Corazón Cabo Resort & Spa is adults only, in the marina district, with three pools and two hot tubs, from $170. Breathless Cabo San Lucas is the adults-only all-inclusive with a nightclub. It is a party, not a hideaway.

Los Cabos honeymoon resorts on the Corridor and in San José del Cabo

Outside Cabo San Lucas, four Los Cabos honeymoon resorts in our table rate 9.8 or higher: Grand Velas Los Cabos at 9.9, then Las Ventanas al Paraíso, One&Only Palmilla and Zadún at 9.8.

Las Ventanas al Paraíso, a Rosewood Resort is on the Corridor, from $1,179, with a telescope in every suite for whale watching. One&Only Palmilla starts at $1,437 and Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, with a private beach, at $810. Both are in San José del Cabo. Montage Los Cabos is on Santa Maria Bay and rates 9.6, from $939.

Mar del Cabo is the lowest priced resort in our table with a rating of 9.4 or higher: beachfront, adults only, from $288 a night.

All-inclusive honeymoon resorts in Cabo

For an all-inclusive honeymoon, Grand Velas Los Cabos is the top rated all-inclusive we list, at 9.9, from $1,487 a night, and Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos is the top rated adults-only one, at 9.6, from $974.

Grand Velas is all suites, with three infinity pools, and it welcomes children. At Le Blanc you get a butler in every suite, two swim-up bars and free airport transportation.

Pick the area first, because Los Cabos has three areas and each one gives you a different honeymoon.

After the area, pick the plan: all-inclusive, or room only if you want to try the restaurants in town. If you want a whole house and not a resort, see our villas.

• Cabo San Lucas is for the marina, the nightlife and Medano Beach. From the marina district and Medano Beach you can walk to downtown. Five of our 16 are here, from $170 to $1,369 a night. A sixth, Nobu Hotel Los Cabos, is nearby on the Pacific side, from $490.
• The Corridor is the quiet coast between the two towns. You will need a car or a taxi to go out for dinner. Six of our 16 are here, from $288 to $1,487.
