The 5 Best Golf Courses in Los Cabos (and Who Can Play Them)

Tiger Woods, Nicklaus, Weiskopf, Norman and Davis Love III built golf in Los Cabos. Here are 5 top courses, who can play each, and how to book.

The 5 Best Golf Courses in Los Cabos (and Who Can Play Them)

The first golf course Tiger Woods ever designed is in Cabo San Lucas, and this November the PGA TOUR plays it. That alone tells you a lot about golf here. Jack Nicklaus, Tom Weiskopf, Greg Norman and Davis Love III have all built courses in Los Cabos too, so picking where to tee it up is a fun problem to have.

We narrowed it down to five. For each one you get who designed it, what makes it special, and the part most lists skip: who can actually book a round.

The 5 best golf courses in Los Cabos

1. El Cardonal at Diamante

This is the big one for bragging rights. Diamante says it opened El Cardonal in 2014 as Tiger Woods' first golf course, designed through his TGR Design team. It is also the home of the PGA TOUR's World Wide Technology Championship, which runs November 2 to 8, 2026, according to the tournament's official site.

So if you play it, you are walking the same fairways the pros will be on. That is a pretty good story to bring home.

2. The Dunes at Diamante

Right next door on the same Diamante property, the Dunes Course is a Davis Love III design. Diamante calls it a Top 100 course, and it sits along the coast of Cabo San Lucas. Two big name designers on one property means you could build a whole golf trip around Diamante alone.

One thing to know: Diamante is a private community and its site does not spell out guest access. Ask us or ask the club how you can get on before you plan your week around it.

3. Quivira Golf Club

Golf Vacation Insider called Quivira "The Pebble Beach of Mexico," a line the club proudly quotes on its own site. It is a Jack Nicklaus Signature course with ocean views, and it is the one golfers tend to ask us about first.

Here is the catch, and it matters. Quivira's golf page says that to play, you must be a resident or a guest at one of the Pueblo Bonito resorts in Los Cabos. So if Quivira is on your list, pick your hotel with that in mind. Guests request tee times through the club's golf page.

4. Cabo Del Sol Course

Tom Weiskopf designed the Cabo Del Sol Course, and the club says you get ocean views from every hole. It opened in December 2001. In November 2023, six new holes by Fry/Straka Design Group were added on the mountainside, with wide views of the Sea of Cortez.

The best part for most travelers: Cabo del Sol says resort guests and visitors can play this course. (Its other course, the Nicklaus designed Cove Club, is for members and their guests.) You can book online, by email at reservations@cabodelsol.com, or by phone at 1-866-231-4677 from the US or 1-800-996-8160 from Canada.

5. Puerto Los Cabos Golf Club

Over on the San José del Cabo side, Puerto Los Cabos gives you 27 holes that wind through desert, dunes and coastline. The club lists designs by Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman, split into three nines: Ocean, Vista and Mission.

The Ocean nine is a Nicklaus design that starts in the foothills and drops down to the Sea of Cortez, and the club points to its 5th and 6th holes as "naturally carved into the shoreline." The photo at the top of this post shows how close this course comes to the sand. The club's golf page has an online booking link, and you can also call reservations at +52 (624) 980 0679.

How to book tee times in Los Cabos

Every course here has its own rules, so a little planning goes a long way. This is how we would do it.

  • Check access first. Quivira is for Pueblo Bonito residents and guests. Cove Club is for members and guests. Cabo Del Sol Course is open to resort guests and visitors. For Diamante and Puerto Los Cabos, confirm access when you book.
  • Pick your hotel or villa around your must play course. If Quivira is the dream, your stay has to match. Our best golf resorts in Cabo guide helps you line up a resort with the courses you want.
  • Book direct with the club. Use the official tee time link, email or phone number on each club's own site, and confirm rates and cart details when you book.
  • Or hand it to us. Tell our concierge team your courses, dates and group size, and we will line up tee times and rides for you.
