Ultra Luxury Cabo Experiences: What a $50K+ Trip Actually Buys

At a $50K budget for a week, the question in Cabo stops being what you can afford and becomes what is worth doing. Money does not buy a better sunset. It buys the boat under it, the table at the edge of the cliff, and a week where nobody in your group waits for anything. Here is how we would spend it, and where the money makes a real difference.

The water, privately

This is where ultra luxury in Cabo lives. A private yacht for the day runs from about $1,250 to over $6,500 a day depending on size and amenities, plus 16% IVA, and the high-end charters are booked as a half day of four to five hours or a full day of eight. Crew, fuel and provisions are part of the arrangement. The move we always recommend: time the charter so you cruise past El Arco just as the sun drops. From December through April the whales are in the bay, humpbacks and grays, and watching them breach from your own deck instead of a shared tour is the single biggest upgrade the budget buys. For snorkeling and diving, the warm-water months of June through October are best, though that is hurricane season and the crews watch the forecast closely.

The sky

A helicopter over Land's End, the Arch and the Pacific side takes the geography you have been reading about and shows it in one pass. Book a few days ahead in peak season, December through April. Summer has more availability. Pair it with the yacht day so the group sees the coast from both angles.

The tables worth the reservation

Sunset Monalisa

At km 6 on the Corridor, Mediterranean fine dining, $$$$, open 4pm to 10:30pm, a 4.5 from over 2,100 reviews. The sunset table in Los Cabos. Ask about the private terrace areas for a group and be seated before the light goes.

Edith's Restaurante

On Av. del Pescador, $$$$, open 5pm to 10pm, live music, a 4.5 from about 1,170 reviews. The classic Mexican celebration dinner, historic room, tableside service. Book the whole back section for a group.

Flora Farms

Out at Las Ánimas Bajas, $$$, a 4.7 from around 3,400 reviews, closed Monday and only 10am to 2pm on Sunday. The long farm lunch that ends the trip on a calm note. For a group of any size, book it before the flights.

Salvatore G's

Downtown, Italian, $$$, a 4.8 from close to 2,000 reviews, open 11am to 10:30pm. The highest-rated $$$ room we list in Cabo San Lucas, and the dinner where the budget does not need to show.

The concierge is the real luxury

At this level the difference between a good week and a flawless one is a local team that already has the relationships. A dedicated concierge secures the reservations that are not on the booking sites, arranges private events, lines up transportation for the group, and handles accessibility needs in advance if anyone in your party has them. Tell them everything early. The more lead time, the more doors open.

If the occasion is a wedding

A beautiful Cabo wedding is feasible under $50,000 for an intimate to mid-sized guest list, especially if you work with local vendors, who know the terrain and offer better rates than imported teams. Shoulder season, May to early June or October, stretches the budget further on flights, rooms and venues while the weather holds.

How we would build the week

• Day one: arrive, private transfer from SJD, sunset drinks at Sunset Monalisa.
• Day two: full-day private charter, whale season if you can time it, back past the Arch at sunset.
• Day three: helicopter in the morning, Edith's at night.
• Day four: the farm lunch at Flora Farms, then nothing.
• Day five: a second half-day on the water for the people who want it, Salvatore G's for the last dinner.

Practical notes

• Book the charter, the helicopter and the sunset tables before you book flights if you are coming December through April.
• Ask where the fish and produce come from. Supporting local fishermen and farms is part of the point.
• Tip crews and staff directly, in cash. At this level, be generous.
